There isn't really a story to this anime except the fact they are highschool students going through highschool. Other then that, each episode is approximately 25 minutes long and has 5 different stories in each.

Each main character is unique and posseses different personalities. They range from being dumb to being a genius.

It isn't the best when it comes to animation. Some of the faces can be rather easy to draw. But that also adds in to make it more funny. So it is hard to say if it was intentionally drawn that way, or the artists lack some of the abilities.

One word. Hilarious.
It is a must watch anime if you are into comedy, and if you aren't into comedy, watch it anyways. I guarantee this will be one of the best animes you have ever watched.

I have never had more fun watching an anime. This series is funny the first time through, as well as the second. Although the style of humor isn't going to please everyone, I can't imagine someone who could make it through this series without cracking at least a smile every episode. The story and depth of the characters is refreshing for a comedy, but it is used in a way such that it only serves to further the humor. If you watch anime, you should see this series.

Just picking up on a point about whether the artist had the skills to draw facial expressions or not. I believe they do, if ya read the manga the sets are well designed and even the continuity is brilliant. You get a very good sense of time passing slowly for the girls as each year they grow a little bit. Although the drawings are simplified, i think this is intentional to not get in the way of the exuberant personalities ^_^.

AzuDai is a very humorous and heart-warming slice-of-life story revolving around 6 girls in high school. It probably isn't for everyone, because it contains hardly any action, and its humor comes at a slower pace (like Osaka's reactions). Highly recommended series for those who just want to kick back and have a good laugh and maybe learn a thing or two about life in Japan.

Azumanga daioh is simply one of the best manga or anime out there. It is one of my alltiem favourites. It is funny, witty and has the cute pigtailed Chiyo chan. You must experience this anime or manga.
