Bakuretsu Tenshi

Story:

Bakuretsu Tenshi is based in future Tokyo, controlled politically and militaristically by RAPT, and mostly takes place in Tokyo's underground of fugitives, illegal immigrants, and members of a huge array of underground radical groups. This story follows the path of a branch of Barren, a very well known and very powerful syndicate. Sei is the leader of this 5 person party, which includes Jo/Joe, an "angel from hell" and her very close friend Meg. Also in the party is Amy, a cute 10-12 year old girl with super computer hacking skills, and Kyohei, a young cook who took up their "job interview"

Characters:

Joe- The "angel from hell," and close friend of Meg. She carries two pistols on her side (cowboy style) and has some very honed skills with them. She is also the pilot of Sei's Jango, a mecha with the same pistol set up and roller-skates that pop up out of its feet. Joe doesn't talk much, but will rush in to save Meg at all costs. She is the Rei clone of the series. Meg- Joe's sidekick and partner who seems a bit too ditzy for her role, but will pick up a gun and fight whenever Joe is in a tight spot (which RARELY happens). TO me, she is the Asuka clone of the group. Amy- The young computer whiz who is either found eating Kyohei's snacks or hacking into RAPT's security force to aid Joe and Mag during their missions. Sei- The leader of this branch of Barren, and the heir to leadership of Barren (her grandfather is the reigning leader). Not much else is known about Sei, except for the fact the to her, the mission comes first. Kyohei- A young student at a prestigious cooking school who signed up for a part-time job with Sei and the others, not knowing their darkk background. He is the Shinji clone.

Music:

The music is very good at describing the mood of the series at all times. Hard-core punk music plays during the battle scenes, soft music during the lighter scenes, and no music when deemed appropriate.

Animation:

For an anime of this genre, the animation is great. Mecha battles are drawn and presented well, the slums and hidden facilities of Tokyo are also shown in great and sometimes fantastic style. Also, the entire cast of characters look like they should under certain circumstances (they look stoned when they've had too many pills, they look really pissed whenever they are, well, pissed, etc.)

Comments:

Bakuretsu Tenshi seems like a rip-off of Neon Genesis Evangelion. However, this "rip-off" has a more realistic plot (not saying much), better music, and a more realistic cast of characters. Also, if you haven't noticed, Joe, Meg, and Kyohei are clones of Rei, Asuka, and Shinji respectively.

Although i do admit that the characters were good the anime on the whole simply sucked. After watching the first episode i thought that it had quite a bit of potential: Poor Kyohei being dragged into the giant mess of a corrupt world. However, it seems that Kyohei was never supposed to be a main character, heck, its questionable why they actually bothered to put him in the story, it works fine without him. anyhow, the story itself was v e r y b a d . i cannot stress this more. each episode is basically a filler that is neither funny or serious, and all of them ends with jo filling somebody/something/someplace with lead. its possible to predict every step of the story because, basically, they're all the same, jsut different places and dfferent ppl. I am an optimist, but even i know i wasted 12 hours of my life watching this. to conclude, i would like to say that the only reason im giving it a 2 was because of episode 1 (a time when Kyohei still existed) and the fact that the characters are good. but it falls flat on its face in every other aspect.

I thought this series was decent and i loved the intro song. The plot was a little weak admittedly and the character development didn't happen, but then again i'm just a happy kinda guy! ^_^

The intro song is good. The first few episodes seemed to have potential. But after 3-4 episodes, the plot/stories go down hill really, really fast. What's pathetic is that as the stories get worse and worse, the female characters' breasts get bigger and bigger. And when their breasts just can't get any bigger, then their nipples make cameo appearances. I suffered through 20+ episodes hoping it would get better (I'm an optimist) but it didn't. I finally gave up after episode 22; there were better anime to watch. Don't waste your time on this one.

The anime in itself is not that bad, but when, around ep 13 the tities begin to increase their size (they were already _too_ big) you only think of dropping this :(

OMG! This anime is the worst.... The plot is terrible, the characters are horrible.. The action, the song, and the animation are OK! However, I really can't stand watching it.... All in all, maybe it's just my opinion..
